Back in summer 1997 Dissidenten meet the American composer and world-traveller Gordon Sherwood in Tanger, brought together via their mutual friend and patron Paul Bowles. A new and inspired friendship begins. In 1998 in Italy Dissidenten and Sherwood begin work on what would become The Memory of the Waters. Based on Sherwood’s interpretations of Dissidenten. The Memory of the Waters bears witness of the years they continued traveling and working together in India, Arabia and all over Europe.
