DISSIDENTEN LIVE SERIES – Salle Albert Rousseau Québec – May 6, 1988

Having just arrived from the US, we suddenly find ourselves transported to a medieval French town. For us Europeans, Canada feels familiar; no one has a gun in their pocket, and the restaurants have tablecloths and porcelain plates, a far cry from McDonald’s culinary nightmare. The atmosphere is cosmopolitan like in most European metropolis, with neighboring Danish Greenland just a polar bear’s leap away.
The magnificent Salle Rousseau, named after the iconic Quebecois painter, with excellent acoustics and a capacity of 1,300 seats, is quite impressive. With excellent acoustics and, as you can hear on the recordings, packed with an enthusiastic audience.
