The Club SOBs in downtown Manhattan was and is one of the hottest venues for Brazilian, jazz and world music in New York. With help of their friend the famous Canadian radio presenter Dan Behrman, the Dissidenten found what was probably the most enthusiastic audience of their US tour at that time. SOB stands for ‘Sound of Brazil.’ From here, the band’s message spread all the way to Rio de Janeiro, paving the way for the Dissidenten’s later overwhelming success in Brazil.
