and wasn't able to find any CDs until 1990. That first CD was _Out of This
World_. Unfortunately, it is no longer playable and I want to buy another

ich war am baseler Konzert letzets Jahr- ich habe mit euch über mein
Projekt gesprochen (Global Village). Ihr wart so nett, mich auf einen Tee

I ordered "Instinctive Traveler"from CDNow and think it is the best Dissidenten
so far. What I like most about the group is its organic evolution and variation.
Even with a group that I like a lot, e.g., Gypsy Kings, you only need one
CD because the music is the same. Instinctive Traveler combines the musical
journey of Dissidenten to date (incorporating the Middle Eastern, Northern
African, and East Indian influence) and ventures into new territory; American
Indian and US Rap and/or Hip Hop. Though Dissidenten returns often to the
Middle East (I can't get enough Rai anyway), every album is still different.

Hallo Marlon, habe heute schon euere neue Platte gehört und bin begeistert
wie (fast) immer. Ich arbeite in nem CD-Laden in Karlsruhe und habe gleich
mal etliche CDs geordert. Ich habe euch vor vielen Jahren mal in Pforzheim
oder so in einer Sporthalle gesehen (hab sogar noch eine Sahara E.-MC mit
Autogramm) und fand's echt super. Da ich die Jungle Book Tour verpasst habe,
würde mich interessieren, ob ihr demnächst mal wieder in Karlsruhe
oder Umgebung spielt. Ist eine Tour geplant?? Ihr hattet mal geplant - lang
ist's her (oder vielmehr euer Vertrieb) Platten von Lemchaheb hier zu veröffentlichen.
Wie komme ich an welche ran? Viele Fragen, ich weiss. Macht weiter so gute

I doubt that this will ever actually reach any of you, but I just got your
latest album, instinctive traveller, and it's great. I really enjoyed your
early work, as a half-American, half-Moroccan who enjoys traditional Moroccan
music I am always overwhelmed by the lack of good dance music with a Moroccan
cultural influence. It's great to see Moroccan and Western culture coming
together so nicely. Sie sind superkool! Just kidding. But seriously keep up
the good work. It would be really neat if you took a look at producing music
that was influenced by traditional Andalusian music. There are a few great
voices I could suggest. Not being a musician myself I hate to sound presumptuous.
Also curious about the possibility of your appearing in the United States
any time soon. I would love to see a show, or something...I live in Chicago,
I'm attending Northwestern University. I'd love to hear about any performances
in the Chicago area if there are any. This is the first fan letter I've ever
written, so I'm not quite sure what else to say. You guys are great. I love
the fact that you experiment culturally. You do musically what others have
a hard time accomplishing socially, and for that I am grateful. To wax poetic,
perhaps through the musical harmony you produce, the social discordancy I've

hallo ich arbeite im moment im kfz und habe von daher eure adresse. eure bandinfos
habe ich gelesen und interessant fand ich dass ihr schon oefters in indien
und marokko wart......habt ihr vielleicht irgendwelche connections noch nach

Chicago looks a bit out of the way as far as Dissidenten-concerts are concerned.
The nearest we might get this summer is New York and Toronto or Ottawa. Anyway
it is nice to hear that our modest attempts are appreciated on the other side
of the World.I don´t know wether you are familiar with some of our older
albums like Sahara Elektrik or Live at the Pyramids. On these albums we where
experimenting with more traditional moroccan elemments, partly andalusian
from Tetuan. I am just on my way to see Paul Bowles in Tanger, if you never
read anything from him- go ahead, don´t hesitate. Maybe we hear eachother
again- I have to catch the Royal Air Maroc- M´Batshuf!!!

Casablanca âge de 30 ans et je suis mois même musicien resident
en Suède.Vous êtes le seul groupe Dórigine marocaine auquel
j´accorde un ennorme respect. Vous avez su donner une suite à
la musique marocaine qui à mon avis stagne et qui manque de creativite.
Vous avez su moderniser sans que la musique perde le" feeling marocain". Je

music since the early eighties- my first favourite was Sahara Electric. I
always regreted your trend towards easy pop-music as I think you guys have

ELECTRIC"... Se non sei mai stato in India, o nel Sahara, sentirai che in
fondo non è troppo lontano da te! I Dissidenten hanno scoperto il modo
di integrare il ritmo della musica POP, la nostra musica, con le melodie e
soprattutto il "senso" della musica tradizionale. Se non sei stato qui il
24 settembre o se non hai potuto capire in quel momento quello che stava accadendo
qui, a due passi da te, prova a comprare un loro disco ( oltre ai già
citati consiglio Life at Pyramids e tutta la loro discografia). Siediti, sdraiati
e scopri insieme a loro che qualcuno vuole che tu viva in un mondo troppo
piccolo. E' così facile superare le frontiere con una buona musica.
