All my life I am very interrested in great music, for a couple of years I discovered your music, by buying the Sahara Elektrik cd (about 1993 or 4) I still consider it as being one of my greatest musical discoveries.
during the years that passed since I infected some people with the "Dissidenten-fever", while surfing on your Palaverpage I noticed a reaction of mij good friend Piet Feitsma, so I had to react also.
I just want to tell that the "Dissidenten" add some great enjoyment and real musical skill to my music collection, and I enjoy it allmost every day.

my name is Podge. I live in Detroit, Michigan, USA. I grew up in a city of music, but have been looking for Dissidenten my whole life!! I first heard them years ago on my local college radio station , but could not find their music in the shops.
No one had heard of them!! Then, back in '97, I was going through the bins at one of shops when I came across "Instinctive Traveler". I recognized the name and bought the disk on the spot. It was a wonderful day. I couldn't stop listening to it.
It is such a fantastic mix of so many musical styles that I love since I was a child.
I have been attracted to all the wonderful traditional music of the world. but I am also a child of the 60's.....Mc5, Stooges, Temptations, James Brown, the 70's.....Roxy Music, Bowie, N.Y. Dolls ...Punk and Reggae,....Electronic...Jazz.....Blues....Soul....and on and on.
Then I found Dissidenten!! Never have I heard such a magnificent mix of modern and traditional.
I can feel your hearts and souls in the music!!!!!!!!

Dear friends Dissidenten,
Congratulations for the great songs you have.
First of all let me introduce. My name is Rodrigo Solano and I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
I am a lover of Arabian Music, and Fata Morgana was the first contact I had with it in my life.
What calls may attention in your group is this passion for other cultures you show through your music.
I don't know much about music but I do love diverse cultures.
I have dedicated several years in creating a language which now is a mixing of Latin, Germanic, Sanskrit, Semitic, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Swahili, Greek, and Indigenous languages. It has a developed regular grammar and a different alphabet, too. You can call it Alamish ( Al = All and lam = world ) : The world language.
I myself believe it brings the energy of all cultures of the globe by pronouncing the words in this language.
So as I have no experience with songs, but I have a multicultural element for the music, I wonder if you think of mixing many rhythms from many parts of the globe singing in Allamish.
Maybe you could use it one day in the future, I don't care when.
I would certainly be very proud of it.
Anyway, if you have no interest, no problem.

Hallo Dissidenten, vor ein paar Wochen erst habe ich euch entdeckt - besser spät als nie - und bin begeistert. Jedes eurer Alben ist eine Welt für sich,
am besten gefällt mir Jungle Book mit seinen phänomenalen Grooves. Ich frage mich aber, was denn die CD "Germanistan" für eine Musik enthält, die habe
ich noch nicht, und konnte auch nicht herausfinden, was darauf zu hören ist, auch auf dieser Seite, in der Biographie etwa, ist nichts darüber zu lesen.
Ist das ein Sampler oder ist neue Musik darauf? Über eine kurze Antwort freue ich mich.

A number of years ago I discovered "out of this world" and then recently I decided to order 'Jungle Book', which is absolutely the limit; world-class, the best. I am now completely 'dissidentised'.
Recently I discovered that my former djembe-teacher, and excellent djembe-player Dra Diarra is playing with the dissidenten......Live in Europe. Sometimes things fall into place.

Ich wohne in Koblenz und habe bis jetzt nur auf dem Summer-Jam 99 einen sehr kurzen Auftritt der Gruppe miterlebt.
Ich wuerde mich freuen , wenn es in absehbarer Zeit noch einmal fuer mich (+Freunde) die Moeglichkeit eines Konzertbesuchs geben wuerde.
