Mohamed Mounir & Dissidenten live @ Open Stage – Afrika Festival Würzburg 2015 !

The famous Egyptian singer ‘Mohamed Mounir’ and Berlin’s worldmusic pioneers ‘Dissidenten’ play together at this year’s Africa Festival in Würzburg . Best of all: They will be performing on an open stage, so that lots of spectators will have the opportunity to experience this event live.

“King of Kings”

In his home country, the Egyptian plays concerts in front of a hundred thousand fans who worship him as “King of Kings”. Mounir accomplished to combine traditional Egyptian music with common western pop. On June 5th, he will be sharing the stage with German indie rock band “Die Dissidenten”, which is known for its collaborations with Middle Eastern, African and Indian musicians.

“The Dissidenten”

As one of the first European bands, “ Dissidenten” discovered the North African sound space decades ago and with songs like “Sahara Elektrik” or “Telephone Arab” actually became famous over the world. Roman Bunka, who is also the guitar player of “The Dissidenten”, is an integral part of Mounirs’ band.
